At Waupaca Sand, we’re big fans of natural turf. There’s nothing quite like the smell of morning dew on a golf course, or the feeling of standing on the expansive centerfield turf at the top of the first inning.
But, like many sports turf managers, we’ve also come to appreciate the utility of synthetic turf in the right application. Visiting this football field during the final stages of installation, it’s hard to not be impressed.
The installers of this field chose Waupaca Sand’s silica infill sand for drainage and ballast. The crew was sweating in the summer heat while putting finishing touches on the field. But it was easy to imagine the football team charging onto the field on a cool fall evening under the Friday night lights. We’re sure the kids are excited to play on their new field, and we’re proud to have played a small role in its construction.
