Dinners, Winners and Drives – Rollin’ Out Some BIG FUN AT THE WEE ONE
Thanks to all who participated in another successful WEE ONE event at Pine Hills in Sheboygan on Monday September 20th. Registration was full, sponsors and donations were up and everyone who participated was a winner at the end of the day. The weather was beautiful and the course was in excellent playing conditions thanks to Rod Johnson and his staff.
I had the opportunity, along with my co-worker Sharon Riesenbeck, to be witness to the “Chance to win $10,000-Hole-in-One” at the beautiful yet challenging number 9, 150 yard par 3. Although we were unable to give away the $10,000, we did have plenty of action and excitement with many shots within a few feet of the hole, including the closest from Matt Kinnard at 5 inches from the center of the cup.
I believe Paul Bastron stated that this event was expected to raise $40,000 to assist golf course management professionals (or their dependents) who incur overwhelming expenses due to medical hardship. He also noted that there were more upcoming WEE ONE events across the country. The WEE ONE has already given out approximately $100,000 this year to needy recipients. Thanks again to all participants, volunteers and sponsors. I look forward to seeing you next time at the WEE ONE!
